Kicking off our Top 10 is of course food in this foodie heaven of a city. Tel Aviv comes in at number 3 on a world scale for the amount of sushi restaurants it offers per capita. It falls behind Tokyo and New York. But why is sushi so popular in this Middle Eastern city? Well, it all started in 1990 when Eli Grossman opened his first sushi restaurant. From there the curiosity and intrigue quickly spread across the city. Now, there are over 100 sushi restaurants in Tel Aviv. I mean, they do have access to fresh seafood. It is also the only place in the world to feature kosher sushi restaurants. It is estimated around 1 in 5 sushi restaurants in Tel Aviv are kosher.

There is so much to choose from but arguably one of the best is the very modern Fu Sushi, which offers specialty sushi along with a variety of Asian-fusion dishes. Wash it all down with a delicious, creative cocktail.

Surf Station Tel-Aviv offers both stand-up paddle boarding and surf lessons one-on-one as well as equipment rental for those who already know what they are doing. If it is the big waves that you are after then it is best to come in the Winter/Spring months of December to April. The swells will be bigger but the water will be quite a bit colder. During the summer months, the waves are much smaller and the water is warmer making it all-round easier to learn. What an incredible opportunity to learn to surf and actually surf off the coast of the Holy land.

The Ancient Walls of Acre, also known as the old city of Akko, were built in the 1800’s for defensive purposes. Today, Acre is listed as an UNESCO World Heritage site. What better thing to do at a heritage listed site then jump off the defending city walls into the Mediterranean sea below. You can jump off the cliffs at an approximate height of 30 feet. Always check the water depth and conditions before a jump. Jumping is at your own risk.  It is recommended that you ask and take the advice of the locals for the exact, best and safest spot to jump from.
