Kicking off our Top 10 is of course food in this foodie heaven of a city. Tel Aviv comes in at number 3 on a world scale for the amount of sushi restaurants it offers per capita. It falls behind Tokyo and New York. But why is sushi so popular in this Middle Eastern city? Well, it all started in 1990 when Eli Grossman opened his first sushi restaurant. From there the curiosity and intrigue quickly spread across the city. Now, there are over 100 sushi restaurants in Tel Aviv. I mean, they do have access to fresh seafood. It is also the only place in the world to feature kosher sushi restaurants. It is estimated around 1 in 5 sushi restaurants in Tel Aviv are kosher.
There is so much to choose from but arguably one of the best is the very modern Fu Sushi, which offers specialty sushi along with a variety of Asian-fusion dishes. Wash it all down with a delicious, creative cocktail.
Well, you cannot hold the title of Miami of the Middle-East without checking out the incredible beaches here in Tel Aviv. They offer some stunning beaches with warm water. Tel Aviv beach is arguably one of the best in Israel. The beach itself is free to access however, sunbeds and umbrellas come at a fee. There are even sand specific wheelchairs that can be borrowed for those needing access. There are several bars and restaurants nearby to allow yourself to really make a day of it. Bring a volleyball along with you and play a game on the beach at one of their many nets.
Surf Station Tel-Aviv offers both stand-up paddle boarding and surf lessons one-on-one as well as equipment rental for those who already know what they are doing. If it is the big waves that you are after then it is best to come in the Winter/Spring months of December to April. The swells will be bigger but the water will be quite a bit colder. During the summer months, the waves are much smaller and the water is warmer making it all-round easier to learn. What an incredible opportunity to learn to surf and actually surf off the coast of the Holy land.
צניחה חופשית חוף הבונים Paradive Skydiving offers the wonderful opportunity to skydive over Israel’s ancient shoreline. Located less than 2 hours north of Tel Aviv, this is a great way to get that adrenaline rush while on vacation in the holy land. It is suitable for all ages even if you have never ridden a camel before. Your guide will lead you out on a desert trek. Be mindful that deserts can get very hot so ensure to wear very light clothing that covers most of your body to prevent sunburn. What an incredible opportunity to trek along on a camel in one of the most sacred places on earth. There is a small reception on site selling souvenirs and camel products such as milk and soap. What an incredible bucket list adventure!
Enjoy a fun-filled day out for the whole family and go sand surfing down the desert dunes. There are several tours offered including camel rides, jeep excursions and much more. This is a fun, safe and unique activity. Ensure to wear light but fully covered clothing as the sand can get very hot. Enjoy a beautiful, traditional lunch on a shaded blanket after all the action. This will make for a vacation to remember. Ensure to book ahead to be given a meeting point. This one is for adventure lovers, be sure to add this to your Tel Aviv Top 10.
What better way to get that adrenaline rush than by zooming down the sand dunes of Eilat, about 4 hours south of Tel Aviv and Jerusalem. Drive your own buggy over the incredible sand dunes of the Eilat desert. This is bound to be an adrenaline pumping experience you’ll never forget! Even though it’ll probably be hot, you may want to wear long sleeves if you have sensitive skin as the sand comes up and hits off your body. Adventure is out there, especially in the desert! Worthy of being in the Tel Aviv Top 10.

Always check the water depth and conditions before a jump. Jumping is at your own risk. It is recommended that you ask and take the advice of the locals for the exact, best and safest spot to jump from. Thrill-seekers, this is your Tel Aviv Top 10 activity.
